Compete: …..against who?

Compete: …..against who?

It’s You vs You, to reference The Hip Hop Preacher, Eric Thomas’ bestselling book https://www.amazon.co.uk/You-Owe-Ignite-Power-Purpose/dp/0593234987.

Some time ago, I successfully completed the personal buying process for a product/service that plays a significant role in my lifestyle.

The purpose the item serves is a constant  but the qualifying criteria vs winning criteria has significantly changed since my last purchase.

The attributes I accepted that qualified a seller to offer their services were different compared to my previous buying experience.

Hedging with the Buyers Remorse Oracles, handling competing demands, smoke & mirrors, reliability, my identity, quality, what’s the deal with the warranty? 🤷🏾‍♂️

The tools, gadgets, technologies, conveniences, brands, support systems and networks that compete for our coins do so to serve who and what we are choosing to be.

During my sojourn through the buyers roadmap, I was able to forego minor winning criteria for better ones that consider key performance indicators, todays risks and the economic factors of a volatile socioeconomic era.

Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company) Report, 2011 shares insight into the buying process [for companies]:

“Chief Procurement Officers, with their proficiency in overseeing and managing third party suppliers to generate the highest possible level of quality and productivity, know the right questions to ask to make these determinations.”

Taking the time to reassess the qualifying criteria and winning criteria ensures that we procure in alignment with the ideals we hold today and the vision of the future we are becoming.

Sourcing a product or service that plays a key role in our daily lives requires keen analysis when acting as a buyer in the market place.

In his book Code of the Extraordinary Mind, Vishen Lakhani shares the “Happiness in the Now” And “Vision for the Future” chart (pictured). The Mindvalley tool can help us to navigate the four states of human living. By managing the trajectory of these competing forces, the lesson & mission is to seek balance through the perfect mix of ingredients. Heres to bending reality, may the force be with you. 🥂✊🏾☮️
